Our plans change and we see Smashlee (Day 6)

We had one of those morning where we say "I duhno what do you wanna do?, I duhno what do you wanna do." Ryan had given me so many options that I was confused at what was the best. We finally decided on Monticello the home of Thomas Jefferson. After taking forever to get ready and leave we were on our way.
About 10 minutes into the drive I asked Maren if this was the way to Smitty and Ashlee's house. Ellie heard Maren say yes and got so excited. she thought we were going to see Smashlee. She was very disappointed when she realized it wasn't where we were doing. I called Smitty to tell him how excited Ellie was. After we got off the phone about 2 minutes later Smitty calls back and says why don't we meet? So we changed out plans and off we went to Somerset PA. This was the middle point. We called to see where to meet them and they had just gone to a gas station. We sat in the parking lot for about 10 minutes and then realized we were in the same parking lot as them. Ellie was so excited to see them. She couldn't wait to get out of the car and give hugs.
Could Ellie look any happier.
Lulu wondering what is up with all this car time. This was also Smitty and Ashlee's first time meeting Lucy.
Ashlee told us this was near where Flight 93 went down. I thought it would be a fun thing to go and see the site. We got out our trusty GPS on or phone put in the coordinates and off we went. We drove right to the spot and there was nothing marking were to go. So I went up to a house and asked the man where we needed to go. It turns out that it actually landed on his property just not the property we were on. Cowinkydink. He pointed up in the right direction and off we went again. By the way I think Somerset looks like a run down version of Park City. Everyone else thinks I am insane. Ryan said yes, if Park City got swallowed by a tornado and spit back out, and then a designer from the 70's came in then yes, they are exactly alike. (or something like that.) We drove, and we drove, and we drove some more. We drove for about an hour trying to find this place. We finally found it and get up to the entrance and it is CLOSED! You have got to be kidding. Really it was not a pretty drive. The only thing good that came out of it was seeing a sign that read Caution Low Flying Planes. We laughed at that one cause we are creepy like that. And the snow was crazy. The sides of the road in parts the snow was as high as our car. We spent a lot of time driving that we could have spent together. UGH! My bad, I take full responsibility.
Here is what we could have seen.
After our little drive around rural PA we ended up back in Somerset eating at Ruby Tuesday. I do not like Ruby Tuesday at all. Oh well it was food. Ellie actually ate for the first time the entire trip. I think she was just so happy to be with Smashlee that she was able to eat.

Elsie wasn't so sure about Smitty, but he loved teasing her about it.

Look how cute they are.

Some of my most favorite ladies

Smitty finally gave up Ellie for the pic.
It was so good to see Smitty and Ashlee. I didn't realize just how much I missed them until we saw them. I held it together though. There was a time at dinner when I almost started to cry cause I knew it was about over but I held it in. For Smitty's sake really. He hates tears. He doesn't understand them.
East Coast Club
I think that Maren was a trooper she had a headache and she had to nurse and she still drove me all over the place to do what I wanted. Ryan was a trooper as well. It was funny at one point we needed to ask my dad a question and Ryan said "No, don't call him or we will have to meet him in the middle." I think that is hilarious. I love road trips. For me it was just fun. The kiddos slept for the most part and Maren, Ryan, and I just talked and laughed. I am certainly glad that I didn't go t Monticello that day. It was great doing what we did.

Lulu after her first road trip. She is such a doll face.

Oh, ya Elsie was there too. For a second I thought that was my shadow.
It was hilarious. Elsie loved Ryan. She would smile with him and she warmed up to him well. Right before Ryan was heading to bed he playfully threw a blanket at a already grumpy Elsie. The impact of the blanket knocked her over. She was not happy about this. Not at all. Her last moments with Ryan were well lets just say not so happy.

I love this picture
