Happy Halloween

The day started off with a fun parade at the school.  Ellie decided to be a witch for this part of the day.
Emma dressed up as a vampire.
Elsie of course wanted to be a little witch as well. Ellie liked showing Elsie around her classroom.
Halloween is one of my most favoritest holidays.  I get so excited for it to come.  That is why my kids are allowed to wear multiple outfits that day.  It only comes once a year.  It is awesome to fit in as many as you can.
This year for her trick or treating outfit Elsie decided to be a cheerleader.  I have a feeling this just might be an outfit she wears a lot when she is older.
Ellie had to be just about the cutest Snow White I have ever seen.  She rocks the black hair like nobody's business.  Seriously part of me would like to make it permanent.
Grandpa always comes a bit early so he missed seeing the older two and the littlest one all decked out.  But he did get to see these little cuties.
Here's the whole spooky gang.  Frankenstein, Gypsy, Raggedy Ann, Snow White, and a Cheerleader.  It was such a fun theme.  Oh ya, my hopes were Wizard of Oz, as you can see I lost big time.
Our cute little gypsy.
Meet Frank.  He is a bit creepy.
I know I shouldn't have a favorite but this little miss stole the show.  How cute is Raggedy Ann.  I could have squished her right up.  She was adorable.

One of my favorite things that we do on Halloween is have everyone over and we eat dinner, hang out, and have fun together.

This year Mr. Mac was Clark Kent.  He looked so cute.
Uncle Jeff was a pumpkin, Tara was  kitty cat, and of course Mac stole the show here.
Who is that creepy guy with JJ?  Oh ya, it is Trevin.

As far as the adult costumes this was my favorite.  Where's Waldo and Where in the world is Carmen San Diego.   I thought it was so clever.
Fred and Wilma were pretty hot ;)
Mama and Papa get the creepiest award.  Ellie was so terrified of Papa that she wouldn't come out of her room.  It should have been sad if it wasn't so funny.  She literally was shaking every time she saw him.

This is how I found Ellie after she went to her room to get away from Papa

Emry doesn't know what to think of this green witch holding her.  Mama still got some good snuggles in though.
Seriously, she was darling!
For some reason Grandma and Grandpa missed the dressing up memo.  It's okay though.  We had fun just having them come.
Such a fun group.
If you are wondering where Emma is she is still out getting candy like a normal kid.
The kids love the witches brew that we have every year.  It is fun for me too.  Ellie and Elsie were the ones this year that loved watching the foggy air.

One of the best times of the night is going through all of your loot.  This girl made out pretty good for how short of a time she went.

Emma was pretty pleased with her candy.

Our front porch pumpkins.
After everyone had left Uncle David and Kassie came over all dressed up.  They were a prince and princess.  I think Elsie was in love with Kassie's costume.  Tyke was a frog.  So cute.  The theme was princess and the frog.  Too fun.  David actually made the crown and the cross.

Even though my wizard of Oz dreams will probably never happen it was so much fun to do all that we did.  Halloween is crazy busy but it is also crazy fun. Happy Halloween everyone.

Carving Time

We usually try to carve pumpkins the night before Halloween so they are perfectly ready for Halloween.  We got our carve on and it was a lot of fun.  The kids are really starting to get the hang of it.  Emma and JJ are all on their own now.  Elsie, Ellie, and Emry still need a lot of help.  That leaves Jeron and I carving 5 pumpkins between the two of us.  They all turned out pretty awesom.

I just love this girl.  She is my favorite to take pictures of.   This pic shows a crazy thing.  Yes, the window is open because it was that warm.  What is the deal with Utah right now?
Emma getting her pumpkin ready
I couldn't love her more.
JJ is looking through all the ideas to see what he wants to do.   He actually ended up not using any of them and did his own idea.
It is this little ladies first pumpkin carving and she isn't too sure about what is going on.
It wouldn't be normal without Shaela here.   She is my sixth child.
Daddy always has the duty of carving all the tops off.  He is the master at making sure the lid doesn't fall back in.  BIG job, very BIG job.
Emry's finish product. (mom did it)
Here I am trying to figure out which pumpkin was mine.
Elsie is all done.  She did a ghost.  (mommy did it)
Ellie's is a happy pumpkin. (daddy did it)
JJ did the hand of Freddy Kruger.  the picture doesn't do it justice.  IT is really good.
Emma did  cute cat.  She had a little drama with hers because the tail came off and that is the end of the world.  So, after a bit of dramatics we got the tail back on and all was good.
After doing the other two pumpkins I was kind of D.U.N. Done.  So I did a real simple one.  BOO!
Dad did a pretty awesome skeleton face.
I am thinking our front porch is going to be wickedly awesome tomorrow night.

Our kids are Carnies

Our kids are on the swim team at the Bountiful Rec Center.  We are required to do volunteer hours every year.  We decided it would be fun to help out at the Halloween Party this year.  JJ, Emma, and Jeron maned the booth while Ellie, Elsie, Emry, and I went to the carnival.  I know you what your thinking poor Jeron having to work, but really lets think again.  Three babies in toe at a carnival with thousands of people.  Okay, sympathy my way peeps.  No, actually it was pretty fun.  Jeron and the older kids had a good time too.  Who knew that we were raising our kids to be carnies.  I guess they did a great job in the bat cave.
 JJ was a vampire
Ellie was of course Hannah Montana
 Vampire
Here we are decorating cookies.  This was a ton of fun for the girls.  I believe there was more eating than decorating.
 Elsie is a witch
Lucky ladies got to eat donuts from Krispy Kreme
THey did a Harry Potter theme.  Here the girls are trying to find the golden snitch.  (They never did, and were in the hot room for a LONG time)
Ellie's turn on the donuts.  She actually gave me the rest of hers.  Lucky me.
 More eating.
These two are learning to love each other.
We had a really fun night.  The kids got to play and enjoy a Halloween activity and we earned volunteer hours.  Two birds one stone.  woot woot.

Tonight as Emry was going to bed I think she was trying to tell me something.
I'm thinking not a fan of the Carnival.
