Sidewalk Fun

We were kind of  bored today with Emma at school and JJ at Lagoon so we decided to do a little sidewalk chalk.  It was a lot of fun for mom, and maybe not as much for the girls.  They loved the pictures after though.

Elsie frolicking in the grass.

Ellie being swept away by a ton of balloons.

 And Elsie too.

They did however enjoy making this masterpiece.  It turned out so cute.  They colored themselves in and everything.  It was a lot of fun.  I love that Elsie even painted her toenails and Ellie colored a strip on her shirt.

More birthday fun

Jeron had my family over for my birthday.  We had a good time together.  He made another cake and everything.  What a good guy.
These two had me 37 years ago.  Now who's old.  Haha

Back to School...IN JULY!!!

This is our very first experience with year round school and in our humble opinion it bites.  And it bites hard.  First off, whom ever in the district decides that the day after a Utah holiday is the day to start school is ridiculous.  Not only that but it is a Thursday.  Yes, you read that right... A Thursday.  As you can see we were not thrilled at all.

This year Emma is the oldest on campus.  That makes her the best.   She is growing up way to fast.  She looked so pretty.

Not only is it weird to go back in the middle of the summer but it is weird to buy clothes for school that are for the summer.
Watch out Eagle Bay she is a 6th grader
All the friends here and accounted for.
 Emma's besties
Elsie started Afternoon Kindergarten this year.  She is also on B track with Emma so she got to go back as well.
I don't think you could be more excited than Elsie was.  She couldn't wait to go.
Eagle Bay is pretty lucky to get this smart cookie
 Elsie with her bestie Paige
Daddy drove all the way back up from work to walk Elsie into school.  Such a good daddy.
I am so excited for my little Boo.  She will love school.
It was just so weird to be standing in the heat melting and then sending your kids into school.  I think we should have skipped and gone to the pool.

The day after my birthday

In case in are wondering, yes, Utah has a big celebration the day after my birthday.  I have often wondered if it is in honor of me and they don't want to single just one person out so they "claim" it is Pioneer Day of Days of 47'  What ever it is I love the celebration.  First it starts off with a parade.  Which now that we have kids we watch it from our home not the actual route.

Today after the parade was over we headed down to City Creek to get these two monkeys a few more things for school.
Our neighborhood has started a fun tradition of getting together with all of the fireworks our boys husbands have bought and bring them to light them off for one big display.  It is a lot of fun watching the men behave like teenagers.  This year my parents decided to come hang out with us for the party.
Emry found the perfect seat in the house.
Seriously, I don't know who has more fun.  The teenage boys or the grown men?
I hardly see JJ the whole night because he is off getting his pyromaniac on.  Emma was running all over with her friends.  It was a good thing that Mapa came because who would I have hung out with?  Oh wait, that's right I have a spare or two or three.  Ellie, Elsie, and Emry were a bit nervous at first and then the older two were all over the place.
Now, don't forget tonight is a school night for Emma and Elsie.  So we had to do blessing before the festivities and we had to hurry home after and get to bed.  Seriously what kind of State planning was this?  It just feels so wrong to send them to school.  And yes, they got to bed roughly after 11:00pm.  Ugh

Happy Birthday Mommy

We are certainly getting up there in age.  When did I turn 37?  That is just crazy talk.  I remember when old people were 40.  Am I an old person?  This year it was very low key.  We went to Olive Garden for dinner and then to Station Park to check out It Sugar.  Before all of that we got Elsie's hair cut.  She chopped it.  So much for tangled hair.

It Sugar is a fun store but ridiculous if you ask me.  Who would ever buy that Rice Krispies Treat. Not me.
Gummy worm anyone
That box of nerds would last her about a week.
Elsie was in heaven with all the candy everywhere.
I could totally use this list...and use it often.
This sucker would last a year.
I about died when we found these lips.  Took me back a few years.
Hey baby
Pucker up
Hot lips
Smooches

We just kind of had our own little thing at the house.  With school starting and everything it was just easier that way.
I did spend it with all my most favorite people though.

And the Teacher is...

I am not quite sure what the fuss was about this year but the kids had to stop to see what class they were in for school.  Normally, yes, this would be a big deal, but this year we already knew.  Elsie is going into Kindergarten with one teacher, Emma has the exact same class and teachers we know, so Ellie was really the only one that would be finding out and she isn't ever even on a list...  So the excitement was lost on me.

Elsie found out she was in Afternoon Kindergarten with Ms. Lindeman
She was super excited. Mainly because her name was on the list.
Emma got Ms Sifre and Mr Lopez and as we suspected the exact same class.
(not to thrilled about that.)
 Look there I am mom.
After doing a little deciphering and realizing which teacher was on D track we figured out which class would be Ellie's.  So even though her name is not on the list (BUGS ME) she found out who her teacher is and was so excited.
She is just pointing to her class not her name.
I am not to excited for school to already be starting.

Cabin time

Before we headed to cabin we made sure to get one last good swim in before we left.   The kids love swimming with their daddy.  I love when dad is there because it means I can layout.

We are just trying to squeeze in as much as we can do before the kids go back to school in five days.  For sure one of those things that we needed to fit in was a trip to our favorite place up Millcreek Canyon, Our Cabin.
And of course what is a camp fire without smores?  We enjoy them so much.  I am bound and determined to make one that melts the chocolate too.  I almost had it done.  Until it feel in the fire :(
I sure do love this family  They are my world.  I am just so lucky my hubby is such a hottie and my kids are such cuties.  Makes it easier to be together FOREVER!
 This girl LOVES her marshmallow
The cabin is such a relaxing place.  Cell phones don't work and you are just free from distraction.  We love all the places to go and just enjoy nature and each other.

They never come out clean but they go to bed easy.  She was in heaven crawling around and getting close to nature...eating nature.  She was in heaven.

We love the creek and trails.  We also love the food.  Nothing better the a meal cooked over an open fire.
I can't believe we only made it here twice this year.  I sure do love this place.
