Mount Vernon (day 5)

I am blown away at the lack of pictures that I took. I told Maren I was in a non picture taking mood so to remind me. Then she up and went and fed her baby. Priorities sissy.

Before we left for Mount Vernon I have to explain the little elevator mishap. Ellie thought it would be hilarious to run ahead and go to the apartment elevators. I thought nothing of it...That was until I get to the elevators and Ellie is gone. Just like that she is gone. 3 elevators 14 floors and NO ELLIE! You can imagine my horror. The possibilities of her getting found soon seemed pretty slim. The first elevator arrived and NO ELLIE. Ryan sent me on that one to floor 1. Maren took the next Elevator to floor 1. Ryan took the 3rd elevator to floor 1. NO ELLIE! I was really starting to freak out. This meant she was not on the elevator anymore and somewhere on some floor who knows where.

We ran to the front desk to see if they had cameras or anything to help. The lady at the front desk wasn't much help. Then a lady standing next to the elevators said "I found her! Is this who you are looking for?" There was Miss Ellie all smiles. She never thought she was lost. Not even for one second. My heart is sill trying to recover from that fun experience. I am just glad that floor one had a star next to it. I believe that made it look fun to push.

After that was over we got in the car and headed to our destination. The drive alone to Mount Vernon was beautiful. The river runs along the road and it is so pretty. I could get use to living there if I was filthy rich.
Mount Vernon

I love Mount Vernon. The grounds are beautiful. The house is perfect and it is so rich in history. It was cute when I got home I told Emma that I went to Mount Vernon. She then informed me that George Washington is the only president who never lived in the White House. Smart little firecracker.
Here we are outside of President Washington's house

I love this part of the house. I could sit here all day and look at that view.

This is the front door. Rather plan if you ask me.
I just thought why not show the helicopter view of the place. See why if I were filthy rich I would live by this place.

This is the resting place of President George Washington

My two beautiful little ladies

Okay, someday! A girl can dream right.
This is the President Washington's dock.

Maren and Lucy

Ahhh, the little ladies

My beautiful sis and me

My girls

Me and a really big head
No, not Maren the statue. Hehehehe
When we were driving home I looked over at the lake and thought this would be a beautiful spot for some great pics. What I love about Maren and Ryan, they think like that also. Ryan asked Maren to pull over and he got out and took some pics with his awesome camera. While Maren, the girlies and I waited in the car Maren and I were staring at the perfect picture. I finally got out and took it. When I got back in I told Maren that I really should let the man and boy in the pic see it. She said then go show it to them. So I hoped out of the car and ran up to the man and his boy. He loved the picture. His wife came up and she loved it as well. She is going to blow it up and hang it on her wall. I will have to say I love it as well.

After our big day Lulu is tuckered out.

Cutie patootie.

Had to take a pic of Ryan changing the diaper.

Elsie was plum tuckered out as well.

This was Ellie's favorite spot in the apartment.

Just chillin'

Boo had a nice nap and the was ready to go.
Maren and Ryan really are troopers to take me to all the placed that I want to go. I know they have to do all of this all the time. They make it seem like it is their first time, and they are loving every minute. Even though I didn't take a ton of pics, this has to be one of my most favorite DC trip moments. I really wish that Mama could have come. She was too sick. Poor thing. Why is it that I never get it?
