Still under the weather...for me at least!

Thanks to my good friend Katie Anderson we had another fun project to due while I tried to recover. We looked at her blog and she posted a fun science experiment.

You will need:
OIL
Rubbing Alcohol
Water
Karo Syrup or Honey
Glass Jar
Things to put in the Jar.

You fill a jar with Corn Syrup or honey then add water then cooking oil then rubbing alcohol. All in equal amounts. You have to be very careful when pouring each layer. I poured them down the back of a spoon. Try not to let each layer mix if they do just let them sit for a minute to separate. Then be creative. I had the kids find things around the house to drop in.

The kids loved to see how things would stop on each layer. Here is a list of things that my kids used.

marshmallow, choc. chip, gold fish cracker, Cheerio, Hair, Fruit Loop, rubber, necklace bead, button, penny, screw, nail, eraser, magnet, hair clip, noodle, nut, and a rubber band.

It was fun to guess where it would go and see who was right. They loved thinking up new things to put in. They were pretty creative, and weird in their choices. Not to much work but a lot of fun! We give this one two thumbs up!

THAT IS REALLY COOL. TELL THEM THAT THEIR SCIENTIST UNCLE IS VERY PROUD OF THEM. DO THEY GET WHY CERTAIN ONES STOP AT CERTAIN LIQUIDS?
