In the morning Tara made breakfast for everyone that was there. I made it just in time for them to be heading out. I hurried and did my girls hair and painted their faces. Then we headed out to the parade route. Jeff had set up a spot for us by his friends the Day family. It ended up that their spot was even further then our spot usually is so we walked FOREVER. It was very nice of them to let us sit by them at the parade. I think next year we will get our own spot though so we don't have to impose on their family tradition. And so we don't have to walk 5 miles.
The parade was just that a parade. It was hot, there was candy, and minimal floats. It was a bit different to have an infant at the parade. Thank goodness the Day's got some awesome shade. She was naked and loving it.
All the crew
Seriously, I adore these kiddos.
Could they get any cutier? I think NOT.
It was crazy to see Ellie and Elsie get into the water fight. Poor Emma must have gotten heat stroke or something because she started throwing up a little into the water parade. Ellie was having the time of her life. She was smiling ear to ear. Elsie loved it until she came over and said she was done and was all to unhappy with us that we didn't have a change of clothes for her.
As usual the kids all got a million beads from the Taco Time float. They all shared with Emry. After all she was shirtless, the beads were meant to be hers. haha
Everyone had a great time. The kids got a ton of candy, Julie got some good snuggles with Emry, Emma got sick, JJ got soaked, Elsie got wet, and Ellie got lost. Yes, lost at a parade of thousands of people. Little miss Ellie had angels with her at all times. A friend of ours happened to see her and asked her to show her where her baby sister was. They were about 100 yards down the parade route from us. I just can't believe that Ellie was found. Jeron and I noticed she was missing and Heidi walked up with her in a matter of seconds. Seriously, she is going to be the death of me.
Grandma Jan got Ellie and Elsie this fun skirts. We didn't want them to get ruined at the parade so we had them change into them when they got back. Don't they look adorable. Ellie and Elsie loved them.
We had a great time after the parade. We had a bbq, hung out, and played cards. It was a lot of fun for all.
To be continued
