OH that SCREAM...

I was nursing and Emry pulled off.  Elsie asked me if she could try my milk.  She asks me this all of the time so I figured why not.  I told her to go get a spoon in the kitchen.  She went and got one and on he way back she tripped over the broom that was left on the kitchen floor.  As soon as she fell she let out the most horrific scream I have ever heard out of her little mouth.  I knew right then that it must be broken.  I ran over to her and looked at her leg. I think now of all the times that I asked her to move it and how horrible that must have been for her.  Jeron was just getting home from work when this all was happening.  We both couldn't believe that she broke her leg falling on the floor.  We thought maybe she was just sprained.  The scream kept me believing that it was broken.  We called my parents to come and look at it just to make sure it was really broken.
It broke my heart because she kept asking me to make it stop hurting.  I would have given anything to make the pain go away.  She was crying so hard.  It was crushing as a parent to be so helpless.  It was so hard for me to keep my composure.  Every time she asked me to make it stop I would have to fight to not cry.  I then remembered that we weren't completely helpless.  I asked Jeron to hurry and give her a blessing.  I was so grateful he could do that for her.  She started asking me to sing to her.  I asked what she wanted and she wanted primary songs.  I started singing, hoping that I wouldn't cry.  This seemed to calm her down and I know it was the blessing.  I know she was able to feel comfort at this time.  .
After my parents came and my dad was certain it was broken we headed to Lakeview Hospital.  That was our first mistake but I'll get into that later.  The ride to the hospital was pure torture at first.  Moving her from the house to the car was fairly traumatic. I kept singing to her in the car and she actually fell asleep which I was extremely grateful for.  When we got there she had to move again so it was hard again.  I was grateful they got her right back.  We were on a bed in the hall but they did get her back.  The nurse carried her back and she wasn't very happy about that.  She wanted mommy.  I wasn't allowed to stop touching her through this whole ordeal.  At one point she asked for Emry to lay by her.
Then it was time to see the xray and sure enough it is broken.  It is a spiral fracture.  The doc said most likely she would need surgery.  I was devastated for her.  I hoped she would not need surgery.

Thank goodness the Lortab kicked in and they were able to wrap her leg up. My cute brother Smitty called and talked to the doc and asked him to wrap it about the knew.  He knew it would be best to immobilize the joints above and below the break.  Dr. Swiler didn't agree and didn't wrap it above the knee.  This proved to be a real problem later.
This poor bug was a brave little girl.
I felt extreme anxiety when we had to leave.  I have no idea how to care for a broken bone.  I really was so nervous.  I could see that any movement was painful.  I asked how to take her to the bathroom and they looked at me like I was an idiot.  But her leg was not stable looking to me.
We did leave though and I tried my hardest not to let my uneasiness show.  I think Jeron was a bit worried about me at this point.  When we got home my parents came back and brought the kids home.  Then it was time to get Boo to bed.  She was up every 1/2 hour in pain.  It was an extremely hard night.  I so wish there was something I could have done.

Summer Nights

In the summertime we do not have much of a schedule.  The kids plop themselves down somewhere for a movie and this is usually how they end up.

Ellie is curled up on the ottoman here.
Elsie has gone to her room and gotten her blankie and is out cold on the couch.
We play cards with Emma and JJ almost every night.  Emma spanks us.  JJ is hit and miss with playing.  He hates that he doesn't win so he will quit.  It drives us all crazy.  I never win  EVER!  Jeron and Emma drive me crazy because one of them almost always wins.  Usually Jeron. Ugh.
I love lazy summer nights

Our favorite Poppins

Time needs to slow down.  I can't believe that Emry is already 3 months old.  She is such a sweet and perfect baby.  She is starting to coo and she smiles all the time.  Still no giggles but I think they are coming.  She hasn't lost any hair yet...cross MY fingers!  She is the favorite around here.  I fear she wont roll over forever because she is ALWAYS being held.
How cute is this head.  Mmmmm, I could eat her.
Elsie loves her baby sister.  She is constantly holding her and lately she has tried to carry her.  Yes, this makes my uterus jump every time.  I don't so much love that she does this.  She promises that she is just fine.  Eeeek.
She melts me.

When I say the kids love her I'm serious.  She is never alone.

Emry is one lucky lady.  She has six people that think she is pretty awesome.  We love you Poppins.

2 months old

All the many faces of this silly little lady.  She sure does make us smile.  She is the apple of everyone's eye in this home.  We all can't get enough.  She is such a cutie pie.
I love this pic.  She thinks we are all crazy...crazy for her.

When you're the best of friends

These two just make my heart smile. And today Ellie begged me to have Kaiya over to play.  They had so much fun.  They had a fabulous tea party.  It is so fun to watch these two play together.  They truly adore and love each other.

This was a great "Memorial Day" Pioneer Celebration

This year for Pioneer day we celebrated up Millcreek with all of my dads family.  And by his family I mean his aunts and uncles, his cousins, and his immediate family.  There were a lot of people that I haven't seen in years, decades really.  It was fun to see them but mostly it was fun to see my cousins from Texas and elsewhere.

We had sloppy Joes and they were fantastic.  Marjie you outdid yourself yet again.

It was a huge undertaking and Mom and LeeAnn pulled it off nicely.  They had everything all set up and read for when we got there.

 Just chilling out.
Not my good side if you know what I mean ;)

This is one of the most beautiful places on this big ole earth and we are all so bless to have a piece of it.
I think Dad was camera happy because he took 36 pictures.  Don't worry I am only posting ones with my family in them.

Poor Emma got car sick going up.  I wish I knew how to help her with this.  She can't enjoy the cabin when we just go for a day trip because she gets so carsick.
It was great to get up in the mountains and enjoy the fresh air.  After the dinner Jeron took all the kids to the Bees game with his family.  I got to stay on with my parents and Brychael.  Yes they are so close together I consider them one.  Haha.  It was fun to spend time with them.  We went to Panda on the way home and hung out at the house.  Jeron forgot to leave me the garage door opener so I was there a while.  Haha, they probably got sick of me.

A Random birthday

This year for my birthday I really didn't know what I wanted. I just had  a baby so clothes were out. Most things I want are $$$ so those were out. I ran across a lady that did random acts of kindness for her birthday and when I read about her experience I thought it sounded awesome. So that was my plan. Jeron looked at me like I was coo-coo when I told him. And maybe I a little bit but it still sounded great.  Plus, the kids were totally on board.  The plan was to come up with 36 things I could do.  One for each year.  It proved to be a bit harder than I thought due to lack of planning on my part.

1.  I ironed Jeron's shirt.  YES! I don't iron my hubbies shirts.  Do I look like a fifties housewife.  Who irons anymore anyway.  Only woman with WAY to much time on their hands.  That is what the wrinkle free setting is for.  He walked in and caught me and about passed out.  Check
2.  Make cookies for people.  Check
3.  Let Emma help in the kitchen without micro managing her.  Check
4.  Let our bishop know we are grateful for his countless hours of service with a plate of cookies and an unsigned note.
5.  Take a plate of cookies to our neighbor letting him know that we appreciate all his hard work that he does for others unsigned again.  Check
6.  Take a frozen dinner into a family that the mom had surgery.  The look on her face was priceless.  When I told her it was a freezer meal she was relieved because someone was already bringing dinner in that night.  Haha  Check.  (Side note:  I got the nicest thank you note from this woman.  It makes me want to do this more often because you could tell it really helped her out.)
7.  The kids returned shopping carts for moms with kids and elderly.  This was really fun to watch.  I had many people come and tell me how sweet my kids were.  Check.
8.  Helping a lady with a lot of kids unload her cart.  JJ was all over this one.  Check.
9.  We gave out popsicles to little kids coming out of the grocery store(with permission from parents) and they loved it.  Check

10.  A family was stranded with a broken down car.  We gave their kids Popsicles and the mom came up to me and said "Your son is an amazing young man.  Just an angel."  Check

11.  I stood in front of a woman in line who looked like she could use a hand.  I bought a gift card to a restaurant and immediately turned around and gave it to her.  She looked stunned to say the least.  This one was my favorite.  Check.

12.We took donuts to the police officers with a card thanking them for all they do for our community.

13.  In return they gave my kids badges.  Super cool police kids.  An act done to us.
14.  We took donuts to the Fire station and gave them donuts and thanked them as well.
15.  In return they gave the kids a tour of the firehouse and let the kids see the trucks.  so cool.

16.  He even gave my kids a fire hat and pencils...
17.  Even a hat for the birthday girl.  He told my kids that they had a special mom.  Too sweet.
18.  I went to In-n-Out and paid for the person behind me in line.  The cashier thought that was the coolest thing ever.

19.  We gave out suckers to little kids

20.  Handed out ice cold water to joggers.

21.  After our big day some of my family came over and we had cake and ice cream.  Literally at 9:00 I called them and asked them to come over and they all showed up.  What a sweet family.  Another act done to me.

22.  We took cookies to our new neighbors welcoming them to the neighborhood.

23.  We gave treats to all the kids on our street that were out playing.

24.  Jeron made my favorite cake for my birthday.

My little bro David and Cassie
Mommy and Daddy

My baby bro Michael and Miss Brynn

25.  And what is a birthday without dancing.  Brynn and Michael finally did Just dance with us.

They are not having any fun...

So we didn't make 36.  It wasn't for lack of trying.  We had a bunch of other ideas and it really was a lot of fun but the day ran out on us.  I think next year I will plan a little bit better because this really was one of my best birthdays yet.
Thanks for a great birthday.  It really was a perfect day.
