Women's Conference

My church has an annual meeting for all the women 18 and older. It is something that My Mom and I have decided we would make a tradition to go together to conference. Including of course Maren and Ashlee. This year we tagged along with the Cracrofts which is always a blast. We have always gotten all the girls together for the Men's meeting to have a girls night. So this was a new thing. My friend Nichole came along for the ride. She had never been to the new conference center for Woman's Conference so it was fun to have her come.

We (minus Nichole) went to dinner before hand at CPK. Then we headed over to the meeting. Traffic was a nightmare so I dropped my Mom off(because she was sitting in the front) and Nichole and I went and found parking. We ended up parking in our assigned place kind of far off. I called it rapist alley. It was not my favorite place. When we walked away from the car Nichole said "it seems like it is still on." I said, "No, I have the keys, it can't be on." So away we went.

We were about 15 minutes late because we had a hard time fighting the traffic and finding a spot. I am glad Nichole is so understanding. Once we got there we had missed the first talk. It was Sister Julie Beck. I love her talks and was sad that we missed hers. It was really nice to be able to listen to the speakers and actually hear what they were saying. I loved all the talks. Especially President Dieter F. Uchtdorf. He spoke on exactly what I needed to hear. I have been beating myself up about how I don't do enough and he talked about letting what we do count. He also spoke on uplifting others. By doing this you will uplift yourself. It was really good.

After the meeting we all headed back to our cars. Our journey was a hike. Once we got there I noticed the lights were on. I asked my Mom if she pushed the button on the keys and she said no. I died. I looked at Nichole and thought, oh crap she was probably right, but there was no way I had the keys with me. I thought I had left the lights on and now the car wouldn't start. Oh no, that wasn't the problem at all. I actually left the car running. Yes, I said RUNNING on rapist alley for anyone to steal. I about died. I am such an idiot. I am a nervous wreck with this car because it is my Dad and Mom's new baby. I don't understand hybrids, keyless cars, all of it. I should never be alone with technology. My Mom was very sweet. I think she wanted to yell at me but she didn't. She was just happy she still had a car. When she called my Dad he just laughed. Seriously, what is my problem. I am sure I will never live this one down.

We all met up at a Chocolate store on 4th and E street. I don't remember the name of it. It was yummy, but certainly not "V" chocolate. We all sat around and talked. It was a lot of fun to be all together. This was just what the doctor ordered. I love a night out with the girls. Thanks ladies for a great night. See you all this Saturday!

This was the first time I left Jeron with all the kids. He had the kitchen cleaned the kids bathed and the baby fed when I got home. He even took them to the park. Way to go Daddy! Elsie made it through and from the way things looked I think I will have to leave him with the kids more often!

Fun! I love Girls' Night Out, too. The car story is really funny..totally something I would do. Have fun on Saturday with the girls and thanks again for re-sending the invite. I really appreciate it.

You seriously left the car running? Good thing you were at women's conference and not like a strip club or something....I don't think the car would have been there if you had been! hehe Glad you had a good night out!!

Happy Birthday Ellie Bellie! Love you little girl!!

I can't believe the car was running the entire time! So, I am not familiar with hybrid cars either - do they run on gas and electricity? I guess less gas was wasted. :) Too funny.

I missed the conference, I was so sad. I am waiting for it to read; I didn't remember. :( Glad you had fun and weren't hurt parking so far away - and glad it didn't get stolen.

Love Ellie's giant eyes in the picture. Super cute. And I'd be confused with a keyless car too...how does that work!? Glad the car was still there waiting for you though. You're pretty lucky!
