Today another senseless act occurred. This time it was the unimaginable. We were driving home from the temple where Michael and Brynn were just married. It was a blissful day. The wedding was beautiful the bride was stunning, and the groom looked pretty dapper. We had just had lunch with all of our family and where headed home. That is when the world got really dark. I decided to check Facebook. When I got on there were post saying things like "I can't believe what just happened. Our prayers are with the people of Connecticut " We turned on the radio to a news reporter frantically trying to get the story out. Words like Gunman, Elementary, Kids, 26+ deaths... I could not believe what I was hearing. My heart sank in those dark and horrible moments. My heart broke for the children, their parents, the teachers and everyone affected by this senseless act.
It is times like this that I hold dearly to my faith. In a world so evil and dark there is still hope. I saw this picture on FB posted by my Jana. I KNOW without a shadow of a doubt that this is exactly what was happening in those dark moments. Those families will see their sweet babies again. They will be able to hold them and love them. They can find peace through our Savior. He has suffered everything so that we don't have to do it alone.
I feel so much sympathy for those families. I wish that things like this didn't have to happen. I sat there with tears streaming down face wondering "why"? I was glad to have my entire family in the car. We held each other a little tighter today. We mourned for those who couldn't do the same. My heart is truly broken. I hope that we can all. learn from this that we need to love those we have. Cherish each and every moment together. Take the time to say "I love you".
