oOps...mAybe wE shOuld rEthInk tHis oNe!

Today I had the wonderful idea of going with Ellie to the Library. The area downtown is so quaint. I love it down there. So when we pull into the library I notice all these police cars and ambulances everywhere. This is not a normal scene for my sweet little town. I then look up and see what I thought was life flight. I thought it would be really cool for Ellie to see life flight land. We start walking toward the area. I wanted to stay back a little so that if there was blood and stuff she wouldn't see anything. I just wanted her to see the helicopter land. As we are walking I notice that "life flight" is circling. After three times of circling I realize they have no intention of landing. So we merely change our plans back to getting books, off to the library we go. Once inside, the ladies start talking behind the counter saying things like "I really wonder if we should leave." and "If there is a gun are we safe." This is when I start asking questions. Turns out that wasn't life fight at all it was a news crew filming a stand off of a guy with two guns. Yes, I was walking my four year old and baby towards a domestic standoff.

If any of you were thinking you had a bad mothering day rest assured that I by far was the worst Mom of all today. At least you didn't almost get your child shot. Seriously, Mother of the year awards are not given to women who walk their children into the line of fire.

Can you believe it? I saw it all on the news! That totally isn't something that should happen in Farmington! Don't feel bad, I probably would have done the same thing...you had no idea there would be a standoff...CRAZY!!! Hope all is well!!!

Next time you look at the helicopter maybe check to see if it is a hospital one and not the police one... What in the heck was happening and what did happen? That's super crazy and now I'm even more worried than I usually am. Goodness gracious!

OH Megan you are wonderful mother, don't you worry! I probably would have done the same thing. By the way if you really need me to babysit I am sure that I can help, just let me know if you need it.

I was thinking about you when I heard about the standoff....didn't know I needed to be worried you would try to join it!! haha I am glad you were all ok and don't be so hard on yourself. You didn't intentionally put your children and yourself in danger and you did leave, right? Good job!!

If that is what you meant by S.T.U.P.I.D. then I am all for it!!

I can't believe that happened right when you were there! I would've probably done the same thing too before I figured it out. Who knew going to the library would be dangerous?

Megs, your not a bad mom. I'm sure the police officers would have stopped you before you and your children could get into the line of fire!

Oh how funny, thanks for making me laugh! I am afraid I would have totally done the same thing. Tanner always wants me to chase after Fire Trucks (only he can't say the TR sound it comes out like the F sound!!) So now who is mother of the year-my kid says the F word at least once a day!

That's so crazy! And I wouldn't chalk it up to poor parenting...sounds more like poor policing! Why were they still letting people in the area anyway?! Glad you guys are all safe though!
