We decided to head out at 3 am thinking that our kids (especially baby) would sleep though the night. We didn't take into account that our five year old would be so excited to go to Disneyland that she would never be able to sleep the entire trip. Also, it turns out that Miss Emry is a bit afraid of the dark. It is funny how much different road trips are from when I was a kid. We would never wear our seat belts. It is funny though because these kids are very entertained. All of them have their little device to use. There is literally no talking. I had to beg them to put their things away to play the alphabet game.
By the time we got to St. George Emry finally fell asleep. Poor little bug was a wreck all night long. We decided to eat breakfast in the car since she was finally asleep. We stopped to go potty and headed on our way.
Elsie had to go potty really bad so we pulled in here. Emma asked "Is that a real man?" Yes, Emma that huge statue is a "real" man. She meant does he represent a real man but it sure made us all chuckle.
Last time we went to California we stopped in Barstow, CA for lunch. This was 2009
2013
We had to get a pic with all the kids so that when we come again we can recreate it with Emry
She just loves her big brother.
Here is another recreated photo. I love this one!
We were almost to the gas station just coming out of the canyon in California when Elsie had to go... and she had to go! Jeron tried to help her pee in a can. Hahahhahahahha, boys just don't get it. Needless to say it was not such a great thing. After just a few mishaps we were already there. It is the best to drive up to this sign.
California, look out we are here! We are so excited for our week to start!!! Woot woot!
