When your day starts off this good you know its going to be a good one.
We headed into the office with Miss Elsie in this horrible contraption. The dreaded soft cast. Seriously, there isn't a worse sentence for a 4-year-old and her mother for that matter. It was an interesting week to say the least. A lot of movies and tears later we are finally here for the HARD cast. They took her in for an x-ray and then we doped her up in the waiting room (Lortab people, chill out)Which proved to be a brilliant move on our parts. More on that in a minute. She was very nervous and so was her mommy. I could see the fear welling up in her eyes when they started talking about splinting the leg. I asked her what she was thinking. "Mommy, I don't want them to split my leg." Poor little pooky was worried about the splitting her leg. I felt horrible and glad that I asked her. After we cleared up the minor detail of her not hearing the "N" in the word life was much better. The process was pretty easy, but I will say that I was glad when it was over. They were VERY impressed with how well she handled the pain. That is when I explained the child was doped up. They were very impressed with our decision to drug our child. They said it was night and day difference in how she acted.
As you can see she is one happy cookie with her new PURPLE cast. Yes, I was shocked it wasn't pink also.
She is still non-weight bearing but there is such a relief in knowing this cast wont hurt with all the bumps and bangs that are bound to happen. It was good to be home with her leg all wrapped up safe. Mommy and Boo are just a bit happier now.
I told you this day started out good, and ended just the same. I was able to have a special moment with my special angel. Emma just happened to think it was special too. Thanks for the pic Ems
Love me a good day.
