She is still having a hard time talking. We are taking her to speech therapy and she just seems to be stuck. Ellie is very frustrated with this. She wants so much to communicate with everyone. She is starting to withdraw from things and just play in her make believe world. She refuses to do sign language which is frustrating to us. Hopefully we will learn how to help her talk soon.
She is one smart cookie, and understands almost everything that is going on around her. She is very stubborn and knows just what she wants. She has decided that obedience is over rated. She sneaks off so that she doesn't have to do things that she doesn't want to do. She is tricky at times. I love this little bean. She is so fun to have in our home.
For her birthday this year we went to Kangaroo Zoo. It was a lot of fun for the kids and her. Then we had family and friends over for cake and ice cream.
Grandpa John and Grandma Viki gave her a new stroller. She was so excited to get that.
I will have to say this is one of my favorite cakes but I don't think everyone else like it as much as I did. It was princess and the pea. This is one of my favorite fairy tales. I have always wanted to make this cake. I really think Ellie liked it.
This was taken right after Ellie blew out the candles. She was so proud of herself. We did have to re-light them once during the song. She was just to darn excited to blow them out.
Mama and Papa got Ellie a Hannah Montana purse, and barbie, and a doll. Can anyone say spoiled? Ellie just loves her new gifts.
Uncle Jeff gave Ellie some dress ups. Ellie was so excited to get them. Tara couldn't come because she was sick. We missed her.
Ellie had a really fun birthday. Grandma Jan and Grandpa Gene went out of town so Grandma came up earlier in the week to give her a doll and some clothes. The Johns came and gave her a new darling shirt. The David Meads, Jr. family got her a play telephone. Some how they both missed getting a picture. Sneaky little devils.Ellie had a wonderful birthday. Thanks to everyone who came to make it special.

Happy Birthday, Ellie!
Five years old?! Really...where does the time go? I remember meeting her for the very first time. It was at that extended family get-together where we all went to see Napoleon Dynamite in the theater.
Happy Birthday, Ellie!
I hope you guys find something that works for the talking/communicating thing. Good luck.
Oh my goodnes...that princess and the pea cake has got to be the cutest thing ever! Molly said very excitedly, "I want one!"
