Recently I found out about an article in the Deseret News. It was titled Down Syndrome a Modern Day Death Sentence. It talks about how with all the modern technology that people are now finding out in utero when their baby has Down Syndrome. Most people are opting to abort at this point. This has been something that I have heard about, but never done anything to change it. Once I found out about the article I realized that I needed to do something. I have decided to inform as many as I can. I am starting by creating a blog titled Ellie's Gift. I would love any input and ideas from all of my smart friends and family. If you know of a story that should be shared please leave a comment or email me. Wish me luck!
Please link to Ellie's Gift and check it out. If you would like to put this blog on your blog lists I would appreciate it. Thanks for caring so much about our Angel.

Megan - this is an awesome idea! I got chills when I read it. I will keep my mind open to ideas - something you might want to start with is links to Ensign and New Era articles about Downs kids. I know that the New Era has had a few I remember reading.
This is wonderful, Megan!! I'm so glad you are stepping forward and taking a stand! I know there are many, many people who are confused and should read your words and the stories of others!! I love Ellie!! I hope this really does make a difference. Thanks,
Britt
Wow, I had no idea-that is so sad! I am glad you are willing to do something about it! Good luck and I'll keep an ear open to ideas! I'll ask Jared and Julie Johnson, they have had such wonderful experiences with their nephew Gregory as have we! I don't know where we would be without his weekly calls to sing the Barney song-I love you, you love me! Such a sweet heart!
Great idea Megan...I think that people are scared of what they don't know and this will help ease minds...I am going to link Ellie's Blog to mine for sure!
I also forwarded the blog address to the volunteer coordinator at IMC...she has a daughter with downs and was the president of a downs organization nationwide. I am sure she knows of ways to get some stories for you...
thanks for her story...I love stuff like that!
I think this is a fabulous idea. I saw the article too and didn't even dare to read it and now knowing what it said I am glad I didn't. If people only knew what they were destroying...it makes me sad.
This is a great idea Megan. We love little Ellie. Can I put her link on our blog?
So this may be really stupid but what is the blog address? I am sure I just missed that somewhere.
This is a great idea, Megan. You are awesome! I will link to it on my blog.
