Each year we get up on Christmas and we read Luke II and talk about our Savior. This year we were reading a book called "A Christ Centered Christmas" and it had a little bit that we read also. This is a new tradition and I am excited to do it again next year. It helped us to stop and "BE STILL and know that I am GOD". (The pillow my mom made this year) Then it is time to line up and go and see if Santa came.
I don't know. By the looks of it I think he might have:)
We do youngest to oldest and Elsie bolted while we were lining up. She ran straight for the family room just laughing her head off. It was pretty cute. She was so excited. This pic is after we got her back and she was just plain mad that she had to wait.
And here is the one and only picture of us opening presents. I know horrible.
I will say though that Ellie literally opened all her presents in 3 minutes so you almost saw the whole thing.
The kids loved it, we loved it, and now it is off to see the families and talk to MICHAEL! Yippee!!

The Silver tradition growing up was that everyone had to 1)be dressed and ready, 2)eat a picnic breakfast, and then 3)bolt downstairs for Santa and presents. WELL...as a parent that means up and showered, breakfast done, and then getting your kid ready too. I'm thinking I need to switch to PJs!!
But you know how traditions go...you usually stick with them! But I do like how you read Luke 2 Christmas morning. I might just have to add that to the morning routine...perfect thing to do during breakfast. Thanks for the idea!
