Guilt make you do crazy things like a Treasure Hunt

I was asked a few months back if I wanted to go on a girls weekend.  I really haven't ever done this and it sounded like so much fun.  I got the email at 1am.  She said in her email "It is first come first serve."  I responded immediately with a Yes!  Turns out that I didn't look to closely at the dates.  It was when my kids would be off of school and my bro-in-law and sis-in-law were getting sealed.  OOPS.  By the time I realized all of this I had already paid and didn't know what I was going to do.  I actually asked for a refund and she was so sweet to give it back.  Then Jeron figured out a way for me to do both.  So I was back on.  Then the guilt set in about not being with my kids on a weekend we normally do crazy fun autumn things.  This got me thinking, if I made it big the day before we leave then all would be okay.  I hurried and threw together a Treasure Hunt.

------------------------

My kids got involved and it really turned out to be a fun time. They helped me make up the clues for the younger kids treasure hunt.  They cut out and pasted bats and pumpkins on the clues.  They even helped hide the bitty kids clues.   We had about 25 kids over and it was crazy.  I couldn't have done it without all the help of the amazing mommies in my neighborhood.  Amy made cupcakes, Brittney decorated them and came up with the great brilliant yet simple idea of changing the color of pink to orange with food coloring.  And all the moms stayed and helped out with the littles while I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off.  The little kids had a blast.  They had a simple treasure hunt in the front yards that lasted about 10 minutes.  The older kids took about an hour and a half.  That was really my whole plan, bwahhahaha.

Now here is the part where I usually go cRaZy with pictures, right... WRONG!  As I was looking through my camera to take pictures of the sealing I thought I had them ALL.  I pushed delete on my camera and off they went.  My bad.  I didn't have all the pictures!  I am sitting her mourning the loss of all of those sweet kids with their little faces looking at the camera with a Pirate eye patch on and gross teeth in there mouth.  I could CRY.

They looked so cute and that moment will never happen again.   I thought about not doing this post but the kids had so much fun I had to.  I was able to take a picture of the Clues my kids made.

They really were awesome helping me get this together.  We had all the kids involved throw in $2 and that paid for them to get a "Treasure" at the end.  They got pirate patches, glow sticks, Halloween pencils, erasers, candy, gross teeth, Halloween cup and more.  The sweetest part for me was when  three of my kids had to give up their prize bags due to extra kids coming and they were fine with it.  I was really impressed.  They were just excited to have the fun day.  I was pretty impressed with those older kids.  The clues were tough and they found the Treasure.

That sounds like it was sooo much fun! I am so sorry you lost your pictures! Doesn't that just make you sick to your stomach?

Are you coming to Cornbelly's on Friday? If you do and you don't call me (since you will be so close) I might cry ;)
