Jeron and I have been trying to see how JJ and Emma will do when we want to run to the store or go somewhere close by. For the most part they have done fairly well. We pushed our boundaries a little further this weekend. We got the two little girls down for bed and we headed to dinner and a movie. Yes, is was a way late dinner and even later movie.
We gave the usual instructions, who to call, what to do, you know. We told them to not answer the phone or the door. They obeyed this one to the letter. Good kids. Well, I told them to go to bed at midnight. (Ya right, go to bed without being told it is time.) I knew I was pushing my luck with this one.
When Jeron and I were leaving the theater at 1:30am I got all panicky. What if one of the babies wakes up and JJ and Emma are asleep. I should have never told them to go to bed. We couldn't call because they wouldn't answer. In the car on the way home I am telling Jeron that I should have told them to sleep on the couch just in case. Ugh, sometimes I just don't think.
We walk in the house and all is quite. Me being Me thought that I should feel the TV to see if it was warm. This is a dead give away that they just turned it off. I touched the TV and it was cold. Wow, they obeyed. Then I turn and look at the couch and there is my adorable little boy. He was fast asleep on the couch.
I look at the counter and here is what I find:
Dear Mom and Dad,
I got Doctor Mario on the Wii.
The reason I am
asleep on the couch
is because I don't want
to not hear Ellie
or Elsie cry or if Ellie
came out of bed asking for you.
Love,
JJ
I had one of those proud mom moments. I just love this guy. He is so sweet and thoughtful. I was so proud of him for thinking of everything, and not only that but he also obeyed the rules. Plus he bough Dr. Mario on the Wii for me. I had been looking all over for it and he found it for me.
I will have to say JJ and Emma are pretty great kids. I think Jeron and I are pretty blessed.

Wow, his little note made me cry! What a smart, handsome, good big brother. He truly is the whole package!! Good job on raising such a sweet boy, you deserve a lot of credit!! I'll bet there was a reason he was sent to your family first!
JJ is one amazing kid! Not many boys that age would be so sweet. You have such a great family. You should give yourself a big pat on the back!
Awe so cute he left a note.
What an awesome big brother!
He is too cute!
I think the rest of the parents reading your blog just hope that they have kids that turn out as awesome as yours! That is too precious. Thanks for sharing.
