Tea Time

Our neighbor asked us to go to Gardner Village to have a Tea Party with our girls.
I was pleasantly surprised at how great it was.
It is in this darling Doll Shop

You chose the treat they will serve and then the girls get to pick out a miniature fairy doll, a tea cup for their doll to take home, and  hat and apron to borrow for their doll and themselves.
All the girls enjoyed this part.
Then we were basically able to run our own Tea Party.
I just love this pic of our girls.
Elsie had so much fun.
She wanted me to keep pouring the tea.
She also wanted me to "act like a lady."
We have been doing this at lunch and she just giggles.
Ellie enjoyed eating with her dolls.
She didn't really eat anything but she licked everything she got.
She loved doing this.
She really seemed to get involved.
Emma with her doll having a great time.
Emma is very sweet and a Tea Party just fits her personality.
Emma and I should time travel to England in the 1800's
(If we do I prefer we live countryside and wealthy)
The setting couldn't be better.
It was so whimsical and fun.
They had fairies all over the patio.

The girls were able to hunt for them and then once they found all of them they rang the fairy bell and made a wish.
 el
I want to do this again.
Or maybe have our own ...

...and dress up for sure!  Sunday Best!

So much fun.

I can't believe that school is here.
This is a very bittersweet day for me.
I love to see my kids learn and grow, but I miss them terribly when they are gone.

I found out my Aunt would cheer with pom poms on the front porch the first day of school.
I am thinking I need to channel that energy a little bit more.
I am trying my darnedest not to cry.
JJ was MORTIFIED that I made him take this picture with the sign.
I told him wait until next year when I make you take it to ALL seven periods.
Emma with her friends.  They were thrilled to hold the sign and say what grade they were in.
If I had even suggested to JJ to hold the sign I think he would have disowned me.
Ellie was thrilled to meet her teacher...can't say the same for the teacher.
Ellie was so cute and excited.
The only positive thing I can see to my kids going back all day is that I can finally tackle all the rooms that look like this.
When the kids got home they were all smiles.
They love their classed.
They love their teachers.
They are happy.
That makes this a little easier for me.

As for Boo and me we have everything done by 10am and still have a lot of time left.
Maybe we will perfect our face making skills.

2nd Annual Snowpack Fashion Show

Last year Jeron had the best idea.
We held a fashion show for FHE.
The kids couldn't wait to do it again.
We showcase all of the outfits we got.
This helps the kids pick out their "First Day" outfits.

This is a private viewing, but we were able to get some paparazzi pics for you.

Boys and their Toys

It was the last saturday before school started and we wanted to do something fun with the kids. We set up the slip 'n' slide thinking that would be fun to do with dad home. Man, were we right.

Rich and Jeron had a blast trying to out run each other.  The kids loved watching their dads "race".  Jeron won just about every single time.
The winner is SNOWMAN
JJ having a great time.
All the kids having a blast.
At one point we had about twenty neighbors/friends here.  It was a ton of fun.
Even the littles had a blast.
Even the big boys had a blast.
Ellie finally decided it was time to try it out.  She was hooked.
I have to mention that Jamie did come over and do it but because I was taking pictures of her with her camera I was unable to prove that she was here. But WOOT WOOT for the only other woman to do the slip 'n' slide.

The Unexpected Surprise

Ellie has a gift.
It is the gift of having people fall in love with her without even meeting her.
All they have to do is see her.
This gift has no bounds.
It has reached across the ocean clear far away in Hawaii.
My uncle has a friend that lives there and since Ellie has been born he has loved her.
He sent her a cute Hawaiian Doll when she was just a baby.
It really means a lot to us when people fall in love with her.
With all the cruel things that happen, those that love her are so special to us.
We love them.

Well today we received an unexpected package in the mail.
(well unexpected to the kids.  I did give the address:)

The kids were so excited.
They all lucked out on this one.
They were so excited that a package actually came to our house for them.
You would have thought it was Christmas with all the excitement.
Here they are with the loot.
Ellie was so excited.  She kept trying to do the hang loose sign
Elsie almost had it.
The kids scored big time.
Purses, stuffed animals, dresses, and a jersey for JJ.
I think they got spoiled.
I don't know if Monico sees this but a huge THANK YOU to Monico.

PS:  Actually Jeron and I scored.  We got treats.  The Pineapple Chewy Candy was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

POSTED...

Every year the biggest anticipated event of the summer is when they post the teachers.
All afternoon my kids have been asking "is it time yet?"
It was finally time and the teacher are in.
JJ was the most nervous.
Emma just wanted a few friends
and Ellie was just excited for whatever.
Actually, the truth is Ellie kept saying "No, school" so maybe she wasn't excited at all.
And sure enough the papers were there...along with the crowds.
Look at the nerves.
The kids looking to see if this would be a good year.
JJ walked away with a sad face.
Emma was overjoyed.  All her friends are in her class
and Emma is finally in the same class as Baylee. Her BFF!  It has been a long time. They haven't been in the same class since kindergarten.
Ellie didn't know if she should be happy or sad but I was thrilled because this meant I got to do Project Life with my cute friend because her daughter is in the class with Ellie.
There is also a lot of girls in the class that were cute to Ellie last year.
JJ-Sifre/Lopez
Emma-Alonso/Stephens
Ellie-Haycock

As we walked away I pulled JJ aside and asked "why the sad face."
He was nervous about some kids
I quickly reassured him he had nothing to worry about this year.
He has grown into himself, he is HOT, and the girls are going to go crazy over him.
That put a smile back on his face.

Now, lets hope for a great year with NO DRAMA!

A Special Visit

We have set up the slip 'n' slide,
the kids are playing,
I am trying to lay out and read...hahaha,
(like the kids are okay with me reading).
I am about to fall a sleep (only for a second...relax)
When I hear
"Hi, GRANDPA!"
in and excited loud chorus.

My kids absolutely love when Grandpa Gene comes over.
He has been stopping in every week.
These are moments that the kids treasure.
He is only here for about 30 minutes but they love it.
Gene insisted that I get a picture of myself on "my" slip 'n' slide and post it on the blog.
So Gene these are for you.
Always a good time at the SNOW house.
Thank you Grandpa for stopping by once a week.
We have loved it.
We are sad that we have to go to school and miss out on our
"special Grandpa time".

We have an Artist

Recently JJ found a picture I drew of Jeron when he was three. He decided he wanted to try it out for himself. I taught him a few things that I remembered from art class and he was off. He loved doing it. It was great to see him hand connect to the paper and create his own masterpiece.
For his first try I am more than impressed.

oUt wiTh tHe Old aNd iN witH thE nEw

We have had new beds for Elsie and Ellie for about 4 months now.
We have been waiting to buy mattresses before putting them up.
Well, my mother-in-law called and offered to take the kids for 3 whole day.
I was thrilled.  I could get my house back in order before school starts.
Once she took the kids my focus shifted just a bit.
I did get my house clean, but now I had bigger plans.
I spent the rest of the day moving all the furniture upstairs.
That way when Jeron got home he knew the plan as well.
He was not as thrilled as I was but hey I did all the heavy lifting.
hahaha
Then we headed to RC Willey to get the mattresses.
(Go to Sam's they are cheaper, we learned that too late)
The rest of the days and nights we spent rearranging our entire house.

Then we went and picked up the kids and told them that there was a surprise at home waiting for them.

The girls loved LOVED their room.
I will have to say I love it too.

Elsie sleeping in her new bed
She was with me when I bought the bedding 4 months ago.
She ran right to her bed and said
"this is my new pink bed."
with all the excitement her little voice could muster
Ellie was just as excited as Elsie.
She ran over to her new bed and said "Oooooohhh"
She laid on it and had the biggest grin.
The next day the two of them played in their room the entire day.
They love it.  I have always wanted to use the bonus room as a bedroom.
It turned out great, and the girls love it...almost as much as I do.
A huge THANK YOU to Grandma Jan for taking the kid and to Jeron for indulging me.
