Silly Kids

When we got home today this is what we arrived to. I couldn't pick just one so here is all of the keepers. JJ was babysitting and he said the girls wanted a makeover. Ha, this is quite the makeover.

We had the dreaded talk

Jeron and I have been feeling like it was time to have the talk and recently JJ said something that made me think NOW is the time.  We were very technical with the terminology and we were actually very comfortable.  We talked about love, marriage, and how sacred sex is.  It really did feel like a good parent moment.  Jeron and I feel we passed this sticky situation with flying colors.  JJ kept saying gross and things like that but for the most part it went fairly smooth.  Today JJ has been saying a lot of things about what we talked about and I can tell that he has this all on the brain pretty much all day long.  So when he came in the room I could just tell he was a little uncomfortable. He finally turns to us and says

"I sure hope they find a cure for the way people make babies...soon."
after laughing for a bit I simply said
"I have a feeling you won't feel that way at 14 and if you do I will be shocked!"
He just looked confused

After all of this I will say the sex talk is not all that scary.  But this subject has never been scary to me so maybe that is why it was easy.  The part I find odd is I am now looking forward to when we talk to Emma.  I think this one will make Jeron squirm just a little.

bliSsFulLy hApPy to pure TERROR in moments

Today when I got home, my kids were already home.
I see Emma in the back yard playing with Ellie.
I go in and JJ and Emma have helped Ellie do her homework.
Ahhh, good kids.
Elsie runs to play with Emma, Ellie, and Emma's friend.  Emma gladly lets Elsie play.
Ahhh, good girl.
I was having one of those good kids moments...
The house was clean...very unusal.
Elsie comes in because it is cold.
She hangs out with me.
I hear Emma and her friend come in.
Emma comes up the stairs and tells me Ellie is in the basement
She locked the door so that Ellie could not get out.
Ahhh, good daughter.
About 20 minutes later I decide to go down and talk to Ellie.
No Ellie, I yell up to Emma where is Ellie?  Emma replies she is in the basement.
"NO SHE ISN"T  WHERE IS ELLIE?"
We start running through our house yelling for Ellie.
The door is most definitely locked so she couldn't have gotten out.
Still there is no sign of Ellie anywhere.  In fact her coat is missing and her shoes.
Now I am freaking out.  It has been 20 minutes that I had thought she was playing down stairs.
I ask Emma if she really brought her in.  Now she says, "Well, I thought I did."  THOUGHT!!!
I run out of the house to the neighbors house.  She is not at any of them.
I am starting to PANIC.  I go to get in the van...NO KEYS!!
Jeron is out of town and not answering.  I tell JJ to watch Elsie, and Emma to keep looking for Ellie.
Just then my cell phone rings.  I am hoping it is a neighbor telling me they have Ellie.  It was Jeron.
WHERE ARE MY KEYS???
He can hear the panic in my voice and tells me calmly where to find them.
I find them and run our the door.  I see Emma, and she still has not found Ellie.  Panic is intensifying.
I get in my car pull out and head down the street.  I see a man walking with a little boy and little girl.
I almost turn but thing not to, and head towards the man with the kids.
As I am getting closer they come into better view.  It was a guy from my ward with his son
and MY DAUGHTER.
I drive to them and try to hold back the tears.  I actually did.  SHOCKING I know.
He had just gotten home from work and thought he saw Ellie.  He went in, set his things on the counter, and had a nagging feeling that Ellie was a little too far from home.  When he got back outside she was in the yard that was behind his cul-de-sac.  I never would have looked where he found her.
I can't thank him enough for caring enough to go back outside.
Moments like that make my heart stop.  I seriously went from having a "Life is Bliss" moment to pure terror.
I am just so thankful that he cared enough about my family to go back outside.
I could cry now just thinking about it. Okay, yes I am.
Later tonight when Ellie took him a plate of cookies he said it wasn't a big deal.
Ohmygoodness, yes it was.  He literally saved my sanity if not her life.
Thank you!!!

We are pretty lucky.  We have some great family that seem to always support our kids.  Mama, Papa, Grandma Jan, Grandpa Gene, and everyone else who came thank you so much.  It truly means a lot.  (Those of you who could not come because of distance...we know you would be there if you could...and we love you for it.)  JJ made bank at the party and was hilarious in the ways that he gasped at the money.  He got money to buy a bike.  It was a great time for Jeron and I.  We had so much fun talking with everyone and we truly feel blessed to have you in our lives.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JJ

Happy Birthday to JJ

We can not believe that JJ is 11.  This time is flying by.  This year JJ didn't know what he wanted so Jeron and I were left to figure this out on our own.He did make one request...a homemade Blanket like I made Jeron.  He did get his wish.  Plus a whole lot of weird things like a 12 pack of soap so he can carve it...hmmm
We went to Texas Roadhouse because this is Jeron and JJ's favorite place.  They love the RIBS.  I am not a rib fan.  Just thought you would all like to know that little bit of information.
JJ had to ride the saddle for his birthday.  He was hilarious.  He was so nervous.  IT was hilarious to watch.  His elbow must have been tied to his waist in some way.  Imagine yourself trying to "rodeo" with your elbow tied to your waist.  Now try not to laugh..

At home we had cake and ice cream and played monopoly.
Oh ya, we had to light the cake twice or three times so that he could prove to Jeron he got all the candles.  Which Jeron knew darn well that he did, but he has to give him a hard time.  UGH!  BOYS!

1.  JJ is charming
2.  JJ is curious
3.  JJ is wicked smart
4.  JJ has a tender heart
5.  JJ is funny
6.  JJ is interested in everything
7.  JJ is a good brother
8.  JJ loves his grandparents
9.  JJ accomplishes anything he sets his mind to.
10.  JJ love mythology
11.  JJ is my most favorite son in this entire world.

JJ's teeth are falling out...

Crazy thing tonight, JJ goes to the bathroom and comes back in the kitchen saying "My tooth just fell out." WHAT!! He said he started to just wiggle it a little and it came right out. Then he went to rinse his mouth out and he comes back in the room saying "My other tooth just fell out." Now Jeron and I are starting to get worried. We didn't have time right then but later we found out they are just his 6 year molars
That is one crammed mouth though. Poor kids. We really need to go to the ortho. The tooth fairy forgot to come.  The best part though is when the fairy finally came she left him money but forgot to take the teeth.  She even dived in the water and turned it green but she forgot the teeth.  What is wrong with this tooth fairy.  She must be losing it.

Happy Valentine's Day

I often hear of people saying they hate Valentine's Day.  This is just crazy talk to me.  Valentine's day is there to shower those you love with love.  Is there anything better than LOVE?  It isn't about who loves you.  It is about who YOU love.  Having kids makes the holiday that much better.  It is so much fun to see their cute faces when they open the door to a suprise or when they ask for the pink balloon at the store, you know the heart shaped one that they ask for every time you go, but you always say "Not today."  Well, not on Valentine's Day.  Today I get to say YES you can have it because I love you.
Our kids got showered with gifts from their grandparents, cousin Lucy, and of course Mom and Dad and from each other.  The older kids are starting to get the hang of it.  When they got home from school they went straight to their rooms to see what was waiting.  We heart attack their bedroom doors, make them sugar cookies, and get them a balloon.  Simple but they feel how much they are loved.  They even knew to wait by the front door so they could catch Mama and Papa in the act of placing their gift s on the porch.  They were giggling so hard while they watched them place the booty on the porch.

Jeron got me chocolate covered strawberries (my fav) and a caramel apple.  Lucky girl that I am.  I made him a sugar cookie and got him his favorite treat.  Again we keep it simple but it is what we love.  The kids love their meals to be fun on holidays so we had all the heart shaped food you can eat.  German pancakes colored pink, heart shaped sandwiches, and heart shaped spaghetti pie.
I just hope that my hubby, kids and all of our family know that I love them the mostest and the bestest.

Valentine Mailbox's

Our school has the kids make their own boxes for Valentines.  They turned out pretty cute if you ask me.
JJ made a Robot and Emma made a mailbox.
I just love V-Day!

Psht...

If anyone has a clue what to do about our little sneaky daughter constantly sneaking food out of child locked areas I am all ears.
Between the eggs and now butter I might go CRAZY.

Pure Joy

There is no better hoarse in the world then your dad
Poor Jeron has to give all the girls a ride at the same time.  They just love these moments with Daddy.

One of my friends informed me that if your kids get good grades that Krispy Kreme will give them a donut per A up to six. Holy Donut Batman... Elsie had never been so she was pretty excited to see the way a donut is made.  Actually they all were.  We walked out of there with 24 donuts.  Yes, they get very good grades.
Ha, I bet you thought that was all but there is a local donut shop that also gives free donuts for grades.  And yes it is up to six as well.  So who are we to pass up free donuts.  I mean we aren't crazy.  Plus, Tasty's is so much yummier. Yep, that would be another 24 donuts.
We may be in a donut coma after all this delicious goodness but what a way to go.
Good grades never tasted so good.  48 donuts in one week,
yikes this probably means I should work out a little harder.
The best part is once they were all gone Elsie asked when we were going to go and get some more.

First Valentine's Party

Elsie was so excited for her Valentine party today. We made these stinkin' cute Valentines for her to give to her friends.  She was excited to give them to her friends.  When she got home she told me "I had so much fun. I got candy. "
And yes, she ate every bit of candy all at one time.  Mmmm, got to love Valentine's day.

We have moved our TV room to the back of the house.  We sit in our cave while our shows are on and we never ever leave the room once it sucks us in.  That is because it is so cold in the rest of our house and the TV room has its own heater and it is soooo warm.  The part that makes all of this hilarious to me is that Ellie wasn't in the room one night and she comes in dressed like this.

See I told you it was cold.
She is so funny some times.

And now as you can see Ellie is sucked in to the TV room as well.  She can't take her eyes off of the TV.

Creative Lady

Emma had a project at school that she had to make a bear. She could make it anyway she wanted. I was very impressed with her creative little mind. She used a soup can for the body wrapped in construction paper, bottle tops off our diet coke for the legs, arms, and tail painted brown. The rest is pom poms. She really outdid herself.

Crazy Hair Day

Today was crazy hair day. This day is a lot of pressure because the kids get awards for how crazy their hair is. Moms in the Ranches go all out on making their kids look the craziest. I laid in bed the night before and couldn't sleep trying to think of what we would do. In the morning I was set with my plans. Emma came in the room and said "I'm doing my own hair today." Emma says what??? I was in shock. I know it was a great thing that she is growing up but it was one of those moments that made me realize she wont need me forever. She is getting big and soon she will not even like me:( JJ did his own thing as well. I am use to him doing his own thing but still, really already?!? Hey, at least Ellie let me do hers.

For Ellie's hair I did 4 braids just in case the other kindergartner moms forgot.  I didn't want Ellie to be the only one.  We did a different bow color on each braid.
This cute little girl came over today...wait that is JJ
JJ makes the cutest little girl.
Emma actually did a great job.  She didn't need me at all:(
She does look pretty crazy.

January smanuary

It is so weird how January seems to be the month of humdrum and blah.
So many people have told me over the years that they get the winter blues come January.
I have been fortunate that I haven't experienced this problem...
that is until now.
Man on man, do I have it now though.
I have been in the strangest kind of funk all month.
I don't know if it is the let down of Christmas,
the fact that the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" is over,
or if it is just that there is absolutely no sunshine.
What ever it is I don't like it.
Not one little bit.
I have been going tanning to try and get my spirits up
but nothing seems to be working.
I decided that I really need to just focus on the postive.
Now, if only I can find where I left it. hehehe

Weekend without the kids:)

Grandma Jan called this week and asked if she could take the kids Friday and Saturday so Jeron and I could have a night alone.  I didn't hesitate.  Heck Yes, you can.  I was so excited to have a break and spend some time with Jeron.  I pictured us watching a movie, and sleeping in late...ahhh!  So I was a bit shocked that we decided to actually do something different.  We have never been to Sundance Film Festival so we thought it might be fun to head up.  My cousin had mentioned that we could hang out with her husband so we knew we could at least do that.  We started on our way and I realized I had forgotten my camera.  This was a pain in the booty because I knew there was a chance we could see someone famous.  DANG!  We got up there and decided to shop for a bit and then we ate at Baja Cantina.  We had a great time just the two of us able to actually talk. Then we waited for the bus to take us up to Main Street.
The street were crowded with people.  I will have to say this was not my crowd.  I am so glad I am not single.  Yikes, dating has to be tough now days.  We called Roger Jeron's brother in law and he got us into the Playboy Party.  We went in and said hi, but didn't stay.
There was this jacker walking around.  I had to get a picture with him because he thinks he is the Tin Man and I think he is a Hersey Kiss.
We had almost given up on seeing anyone famous, my cousin and her husband were a bust because they had already left and didn't respond FB.  I called them but by then it was too late.  So we thought we might end up just going home with no thrills.  Then we saw some girls crowded around a window.  There was a bench by the window so I got up on it so I could see what they were all seeing.  There he was...

Ross the Intern at the Bing Party in Park City
I decided that if I acted a little silly, and waited until he looked at me I could get his picture.  I finally caught his eye and he waved at me.  I asked if I could take his picture and he said "Yes, I will come out to you."  He came out side and hopped the railing to get to me.  He was so sweet.  He even asked his camera guy to come over so that we could get good lighting.  He was so nice and took pics with everyone in the crowd.  All the girls that had been whispering about Ross came up to me and thanked me for getting him to come out.  It was so much fun.
Ross is so funny.  It was nice to feel a little bit young again.  Jeron even thought it was pretty cool of him to come out and take pics with me.  Then we found out that we had missed Ryan Seacrest by minutes.  Dang!!  He was not as nice as Ross though.  (too cool=Lame!)

This kind of got Jeron and I excited to see more.  That is when I saw him "Wee Man" from Jackass.  I knew this would make Jeron's night.  I told Jeron, "There is the guy from Jackass".  He started looking through the sea of people.  I didn't know how to get Jeron to look down because I couldn't remember Wee Man's name.  I kept pointing down but he was right in front of me.  Finally I whispered in Jeron's ear, look down he is the short one.  He laughed and saw him right away.  We started to try to catch up but got stopped by some girls selling beer.  They told us it was the best beer we would ever have.  We both laughed a little and then headed on but lost Wee Man.  So no pic of him.

After our star gazing we got a call from Roger to come back to James Franco's party.  I didn't know who that was and neither did Jeron but we headed back.  The crowd was INSANE so we told Roger to just go back in and we were going to pass.  A guy standing in line said "That is a power move."  Now that I know who James Franco is I still am glad I got out of line and didn't wait.  Seriously, this is not my crowd.  It is funny to see people that are famous but to stand in line and be weeded out like cattle that is not my kind of fun.  The best part though, Jeron and I got in past all these people just because of Roger.  It was crazy seeing the bouncer passing on everyone and then helping Jeron and I get through.  I then we turn it down.  Ha, priorities people!!!

After all of our excitement we rode the bus back to the car and headed home.  This is the only pic we got together that we didn't take and it is horrible.  It was fun to be silly again.  I am glad Jeron indulged me.
On saturday he took me to Lai Cia Noodle house in SLC.  It is really yummy and sooo spicy.  The only bad thing is they have Pepsi instead of Coke.  Ugh.  Thanks Grandma Jan for letting us have such a fun weekend.  It was very needed and the kids had a great time. When we picked up the kids they were out playing in the snow with Brock.  We chatted with Grandma, Grandpa and Jennifer.  It was nice to see Jennifer and Brock.  The kids had a blast with them also.

After Grandma's house we headed to Jana and Graydon's house for a birthday party for Anneka and Jana.
Happy Birthday Ladies
we LOVE you two!!
It was fun to hang out and see her family.  We had a great time and don't know why we don't get together more often.  Oh, ya we are moms with schedules and all that stuff called life.  Haha

Megan and Chris are hitched today.

It was a beautiful freezing cold day at the Draper Temple. Megan and Chris picked January 7, 2011 to be sealed for time and all eternity. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony. The cute man that married them had some wonderful advice. I always leave a sealing feeling like marriage is beautiful. I love being reminded of this. Megan was a beautiful bride. We loved seeing her so happy. Chris is a great guy.

Elsie + the things she says.

Elsie is often saying hilarious things and since I don't have a memory anymore I was reminded by my good friend today that I need to document them.

Jeron's dad:  "Giive me a kiss".
Elsie:  "No, but I will show you my boobie." and lifts her shirt.
Grandpa: (directed to us) "I sure hope she no longer does this when she is 16"

ME TOO...

I was laying in bed with Elsie and there was an annoying squeak happening.  It was off and on but not consistent.  I couldn't figure out what it was but I just laid still and ignored it.

Elsie: "Mom"
Me:  "What"
Elsie:  "That noise is freaking me out."

Love that silly girl.

Elsie + Lucy = Love

Elsie loves to mother Lucy and Lucy loves to watch Elsie. It is cute to see these two together.

Just love these two girls.
I wish I had gotten a picture with Ellie and Lucy.  Ellie loves Lucy so much.  Lucy loves to watch Ellie and smiles at her all the time.
Love my babies.
Today we have to send Lucy back and we won't see her for 6 months.  It is so hard because she changes so much while she is away.  We will miss her.

Look who is ONE and 59

We got to go to Lucy's 1st birthday party because they had it here.  She was so cute.  She loved all her gifts.  She of course loved the paper and boxes.
The room was decorated so cute.  Lucy got to have her own cake.  She was so funny when she realized it was for her.  She started to suck on the frosting.  She was "nursing" the cake.  It was hilarious.  And if you wanted to have a piece she would share.  Too cute.

After the party she had her after cake bath in the sink.  It brought back memories of JJ doing the same thing.  JJ also had his party at Papa and Mama's.

It was also Papa's party and for his birthday we all gave him Skydiving.  My mom isn't too happy, but Dad sure was:)
